A focused medical weight-management practice.
ConfluxMed provides physician-led telehealth care for obesity and qualifying overweight. It is designed to complement—not replace—primary care.
About the practice.
I am an internal medicine physician and practicing hospitalist. I created ConfluxMed to provide a focused telehealth option for adults seeking medical weight management.
The clinic treats obesity and qualifying overweight with FDA-approved medication when appropriate, along with nutrition, activity, monitoring, and long-term maintenance planning. It does not replace primary care or manage unrelated chronic and acute conditions.
Care includes a medical evaluation, medication selection and monitoring, nutrition and activity guidance, and planning for maintenance. When relevant information is available, the clinic also provides a prevention summary for the patient to discuss with their primary care physician.
What patients can expect.
FDA-approved medication
Weight medication is prescribed only when clinically appropriate and only for an FDA-approved weight-management indication. We do not prescribe compounded GLP-1 products.
Physician-led care
Clinical care is currently provided by Dr. Ahmed, who performs evaluations and makes medication and monitoring decisions.
A defined scope
ConfluxMed treats weight. General primary care, acute concerns, and ongoing management of unrelated conditions remain with your PCP or appropriate specialist.
A broader assessment
When the required information is available, we organize relevant cardiovascular, kidney, metabolic, liver, and prevention findings into a written summary for you and your PCP.
Individual decisions, based on the information available.
Treatment decisions are based on your history, current medications, treatment response, relevant testing, and published clinical guidance. Not every patient needs the same medication, dose, laboratory panel, or risk calculation.
Risk scores and screening tools support clinical judgment; they do not replace it. Findings outside weight management are documented for discussion with your PCP or an appropriate specialist. See what the prevention assessment covers.
How care is delivered.
Every visit is by secure video — there is no office and no in-person visit at any point. Labs are drawn close to home, outside imaging and procedures are coordinated with local clinicians, and the weight plan is adjusted between visits by message. We see patients located in Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Tennessee, and add states as licensure allows.
What we don't do.
No general primary care, acute care, same-day problems, procedures, pediatrics, or routine management of unrelated chronic conditions. Those belong with your primary care physician, specialist, or urgent care. See the full scope.
Prevention education without joining the clinic.
PrevenTrak is a separate consumer app for organizing health information, viewing guideline-based risk estimates, learning about prevention, and preparing information to discuss with a healthcare professional.
Anyone can create a PrevenTrak account independently without becoming a ConfluxMed patient. It does not provide medical care, diagnosis, prescriptions, or clinician monitoring, and using it does not create a physician-patient relationship. ConfluxMed clinic members receive access at no additional cost.
