Terms of use

The short version: this site is information, not care.

Reading it doesn't make you a patient, nothing here is advice for your specific situation, and none of it is monitored for emergencies.

01

Using this site

These terms apply to your use of confluxmed.com, the informational website for ConfluxMed, which is operated by East Florida Medical Clinic, PLLC. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the site. These terms cover the website only — becoming a patient involves a separate membership agreement and consent to telehealth, which will govern that relationship.

02

This is information, not medical advice

Everything on this site — the descriptions of lab tests, risk scores, medications, screening intervals, and treatment approaches — is general educational information. It is not medical advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it is not a recommendation for you specifically.

Medicine is contextual. Whether a given test, target, or medication is right depends on your history, your other conditions, your other medications, and things that can only be established in a real clinical evaluation. Do not start, stop, or change any treatment based on something you read here. Talk to your own physician.

03

No physician-patient relationship

Reading this site does not make you our patient. Neither does sending an inquiry, emailing us, or having us reply to a question.

A physician-patient relationship begins only when we have confirmed your eligibility, you have completed enrollment and the required consents, and we have conducted an intake visit. Until that has happened, we cannot and will not give you individualized medical advice, prescribe anything, or take responsibility for your care.

04

Emergencies and urgent problems

Do not use this site, the inquiry form, or email for an emergency or an urgent medical problem. Nothing here is monitored in real time.

If you are experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, stroke symptoms, severe bleeding, or thoughts of harming yourself, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

This practice does not provide acute, urgent, or same-day care of any kind. See who we serve for what falls outside our scope and where to go instead.

05

Who can become a patient

Care is available only to adults 18 and older who are physically located in a state where our physician holds an active license at the time of the visit — currently Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Tennessee. We are not able to accept Medicare beneficiaries at this time. All care is delivered by video; we do not provide in-person visits.

Nothing on this site is an offer to provide care in a state where we are not licensed, and nothing here should be read as a guarantee that you will be accepted as a patient. We may decline enrollment when we don't believe this practice is the right setting for someone's needs.

06

Statements about medications

We describe our medication policy on the weight page, including our decision to prescribe only FDA-approved products. That is a description of how we practice, not a promise that any particular medication will be prescribed to you, will be covered by your insurance, will be available, or will work. Brand names belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the products we prescribe.

07

Pricing and availability

Membership pricing shown on this site is current as of the date below and may change. Prices for labs, medications, imaging, and procedures are set by third parties — pharmacies, laboratories, and facilities — and are outside our control. We'll always tell you what we know before you incur a cost, but we can't guarantee a third party's price.

08

Content and intellectual property

The text, design, and layout of this site belong to East Florida Medical Clinic, PLLC. You're welcome to read it, share links to it, and quote it with attribution. Please don't republish it wholesale or present it as your own.

09

Links to other sites

Where we reference guidelines, risk calculators, or outside organizations, we don't control those resources and aren't responsible for their content or accuracy. A reference is not an endorsement.

10

Disclaimers and limits

We try to keep this site accurate and current, but medicine changes and errors happen. The site is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, East Florida Medical Clinic, PLLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here limits our professional obligations to our actual patients — those are governed by the standard of care and by your membership agreement, not by a website disclaimer.

11

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
